Cub Mobile Racing

This is a great opportunity for our Scouts to have some fun together.  Every den must build their own cub mobile. All other materials must be purchased by the dens.   There really isn’t too much necessary, the wheels are probably the greatest expense.

 Every Scout gets to drive the cub mobile in each of the 4 different races.They will also need to push the car with their partner.   The Tigers will be pushed by their adult partners only.

4 Races

1. Gravity race – downhill no pushing

2. Monte Carlo Relay Race – around a circular track, one drives one pushes then switch.

3. Serpentine race – Drive and push around cones

4. Drag Race – push and let go

The only additional requirement is a 4-6 inch board attached under the front cross member to prevent ‘Fred Flintstone-ing’.   I suggest getting started soon so that your Scouts can have an opportunity to practice before the race.  It will help a lot.   And don’t forget to let the Scouts customize it with paint, stickers, tape, etc.
