DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO ST. BENEDICT THE ABBOT CATHOLIC CHURCH


From 79 South:
Take 79 South to Southpointe/Hendersonville Exit (11B). At ramp stop sign make a left. Go 1/4 mile to stop sign and make a left onto Morganza Rd. Stay on Morganza Rd for about 1/4 mile ft to the first road on right hand side which is Georgetown Rd and make a right onto Georgetown. Follow Georgetown Rd which eventually becomes Valley Brook Rd for 6 miles. On the left hand side you will see Friar Lane. Make a left onto Friar, go a few hundred feet and enter the parking lot on right.

From 79 North:

From 19 South:
Take Route 19 South past South Hills Village for about 3 ½ miles. After you pass Queen of Heaven Cemetary, at the next light, make a left onto ramp. At bottom of ramp, bear to the left which is Valley Brook Rd. Stay on this road for 1 mile until you come to Friar Lane. At Friar Lane make a left, go a few hundred feet and enter the church parking lot on right.

From 19 North:
Take Route 19 North to Donaldson Crossroads. At the intersection make a right onto East McMurray Rd. Take East McMurray Rd till you come to the first stop light. At the stop light, make a left onto Valley Brook Rd. Go to the second right, which is Friar Ln and make a right, go a few hundred feet, and enter the church parking lot on right.



DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO MINGO CREEK PARK


General Directions from Pittsburgh:


PA-51 South 3 mi. past Century III Mall to Toll PA-43 South. Get off PA-43 at Exit 44 & turn RIGHT onto PA-136 West. Go 2.2 mi. on PA-136 & turn RIGHT onto CHAPEL HILL RD. At end, turn RIGHT onto MINGO CREEK RD. Park in lot on immediate left. (Lot is on Mingo Creek Rd. between Chapel Hill Rd. and Parkview Rd.)

Directions from Pittsburgh West:

I-79 South to Exit 43, PA-519/Eighty-four. Turn RIGHT onto PA-519, toward Eighty-four. Go 5.2 mi. on PA-519 to a four-way intersection. Proceed STRAIGHT, onto BROWNLEE RD. (PA-519 goes right). Go 2.3 mi. & Turn LEFT onto PA-136. Go 4.5 mi. & Turn LEFT onto CHAPEL HILL RD. At end, turn RIGHT onto MINGO CREEK RD. Park in lot on immediate left. (Lot is on Mingo Creek Rd. between Chapel Hill Rd. and Parkview Rd.)




DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO GREATER PITTSBURGH COUNCIL AND THE PITTSBURGH SCOUT SHOP


From the North: Take Interstate 79 South to Exit 21, Interstate 279 South. Use Exit 14, Veteran's Bridge (Interstate 579). Across bridge, take exit to Mellon Arena/6th & 7th Avenues. Follow signs toward Mellon Arena. Flag Plaza is on the left side of Bedford Avenue, just past the entrance to the HOV lane. Parking and front entrance is in the rear of the building. From the East: Interstate 376 (Parkway) west to Exit 4, Second Avenue. Bear right on Second Avenue. Turn right onto Ross Street. Continue (north) onto Bigelow Blvd. Continue onto Bedford Avenue, just past the entrance to the HOV lane. Parking and front entrance is in the rear of the building.

OR

Follow Route 28 to I-579/Veteran's Bridge. Across bridge, take exit for Mellon Arena/6th & 7th Avenues. Follow signs toward Mellon Arena. Flag Plaza is on the left side of Bedford Avenue, just past the entrance to the HOV lane. Parking and front entrance is in the rear of the building. From the South (via Liberty Tunnels): Follow Route 51 North to the Liberty Tunnels. Continue through the Liberty Tunnels and across the Liberty Bridge. At I-376, Exit 3, bear left onto Crosstown Boulevard. Turn left onto Forbes Avenue. Turn right onto 6th Avenue. Turn right onto Bigelow Blvd. Continue onto Bedford Avenue. Flag Plaza is on the left side of Bedford Avenue, just past the entrance to the HOV lane. Parking and front entrance is in the rear of the building.


HERITAGE RESERVATION



This reservation is the crowning jewel of Boy Scout facilities in the northeast section of the United States. Within Heritage there are three camps and several wilderness areas for use by all scouts. During the summer months, the camps are put into use as summer camps, offering two Boy Scout camp programs, and a nationally renowned Cub Scout program at the third camp. Heritage Reservation also has a conference center and nine modern style houses available for rent by groups and scout units alike. The reservation's centerpiece attraction is it's 270 plus acre lake, providing plenty of room for boating, fishing, sailing, water-skiing, swimming, and scuba diving. During the fall, winter and spring months, several pavilions and shelters area available for traditional camping, all reachable by vehicle. Located close to Nemacolin Woodlands ski slopes, Laurel Caverns, and Ohiopyle. Heritage is a centrally located camp, with plenty to keep any unit or group busy for a weekend, or a week at summer camp.

CAMP TWIN ECHO



Camp Twin Echo, located just outside of the town of Ligonier, PA, offers all of the accommodations of a modern camp, but has the allure and mystique of a camp deeply entrenched in tradition an past. The camp offers several modern and well equipped cabins, pavilion shelters, and Adirondack shelters for scout units, groups, or even family use. A small lake provides an opportunity for some fishing, and the camp has several hiking trails. One of the biggest attractions during the winter months is the camps almost famous inner tubing and sled riding hill. Located near several ski slopes, Camp Twin Echo is a great place to stay for your Troop or Crew Winter skiing weekend.

CAMP ANAWANNA



This camp, located in Washington County, is only 1 hour and 20 minutes fro Flag Plaza. Anawanna offers some weekend cabins and is a great place for tent camping. Fully equipped with pavilion shelters, running water, several cabins, and latrines, Camp Anawanna provides plenty of activities for even the largest of troops. Fish the pond while you're enjoying a nice facility for your weekend unit event.

CAMP BAKER



Situated 1 hour north of Pittsburgh, Camp Baker is a perfect place for a quiet weekend. Close to Raccoon Park, this facility offers great tent camping, two lean-to sites and stream fishing. A perfect place for a Pack or Troop Picnic.

CAMP GUYASUTA



Located just outside of the city of Pittsburgh, Camp Guyasuta is a little bit of the country in the city. This 168-acre facility is the place for day and overnight activities. Several cabins and shelters area available for rental, as well as a lean-to site. A perfect place for a special Pack meeting or Troop Ceremony. Camp Guyasuta is a great place for picnics, Courts of Honor, a pool in summer season for BSA swim tests prior to camp and a convenient place to camp if you want to visit the city for a day.
